Balance Mental Health Group Position Type: Part Time

Position Summary

Balance Mental Health Group is seeking a part-time Medical Director to provide medical oversight, supervision, consultation, and regulatory support for our behavioral health intensive outpatient program. The Medical Director will collaborate with the Executive Director, Clinical Director, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), and multidisciplinary treatment team to support safe, high-quality patient care.

Administrative & Regulatory Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the PMHNP and medical staff as needed.
• Serve as Medical Director and physician of record for applicable licensing, accreditation, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Review applicable policies and procedures annually.
• Attend quarterly Quality Assurance and leadership meetings and participate in committees as needed.
• Consult with the Executive Director and Clinical Director regarding medical, psychiatric, quality, and regulatory matters.
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and protection of patient health information.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and medical oversight as required by applicable licensure, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Supervise and support the PMHNP and other medical staff as applicable.
• Oversee and monitor psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and prescribing services.
• Provide consultation regarding patient medical and psychiatric needs as needed.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to address physical and behavioral health needs and promote comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with a current, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
• Board certification in Psychiatry
• Experience in psychiatric or behavioral healthcare.
