Executive Director of ERCOT Market Operations & Energy Assets

We are seeking a high-impact, hands-on Executive Director of ERCOT Market Operations & Energy Assets to lead the end-to-end commercialization, grid integration, and market deployment of our proprietary energy storage hardware. This leader will take full ownership of our ERCOT market interface, spearhead the launch and execution of our Retail Electric Provider (REP) framework, and scale our BESS assets into a fully optimized Virtual Power Plant (VPP).

This is an execution-focused operational leadership role for an expert who knows the Texas electrical grid inside and out. You will drive the core technical and market strategy, directing external legal counsel and financial partners to build a vertically integrated energy trading and retail operation from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• ERCOT Market Integration & Asset Registration: Lead the setup of ERCOT market interfaces, manage Resource Entity (RE) and Controllable Load Resource (CLR) registrations via RIOO, coordinate QSE relationships, and establish telemetry and ICCP data links.
• Retail Electric Provider (REP) Launch: Direct the strategic roadmap and operational build-out for our PUCT REP certification (under 16 TAC § 25.107), managing the operational requirements to serve retail customers and structure wholesale power purchases.
• VPP Architecture & BESS Dispatch: Design, deploy, and manage the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) strategy, optimizing battery energy storage system (BESS) dispatch across ERCOT real-time/day-ahead markets, energy arbitrage, and ancillary service structures.
• External Partner Direction: Serve as the technical general contractor, directing specialized regulatory legal counsel for filings and working closely with financial/accounting teams to manage wholesale settlements and credit frameworks.
