SUMMARY

To provide leadership to ensure that district technology staff and infrastructure support the school district’s mission, goals and learner profiles established by the Board of Education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops and implements, evaluates and monitors short and long range plans for technology in the district including establishing and maintaining a sustainable, achievable, and clear cycle for device and infrastructure upgrades and replacement.
• Serves as administrative leader for the technology department and provides leadership and guidance to district leaders in areas of expertise.
• Provides for the cybersecurity of the district, leveraging expertise and resources for necessary training, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety of district data and infrastructure.
• Develops, updates, and makes recommendations as necessary for district policies related to technology along with maintaining procedural documentation.
• Facilitates the District Technology committee and communicates with the Board of Education, administration, and staff about media and technology in the district.
• Assists with district-wide planning by investigating and providing direction on innovative technologies and programming related to instructional and administrative functions.
• Collaborates with district and regional technology coordinators in the implementation of new instructional technologies and makes recommendations related to program and system design, improvements and operations.
• Serves as a district representative in the management of all district technology functions and benefits available relative to district and county meetings.
