Compensation: $40,000/year (Part-Time)

Position Overview

Smile Outreach International runs on donations, and this role owns them: major gifts, grants, campaigns, and the annual gala.

The job is broader than fundraising. It also carries marketing and communications, plus the back office: compliance filings, bookkeeping coordination, board materials, and contracts.

The Mission Director owns the trips. This role owns the funding, the message, and the administration behind both.

Ideal Candidate

Suits someone who likes people and likes systems. Comfortable asking a donor for a gift, and equally comfortable filing a state registration on time.

• Has raised money before, and can describe a donor relationship built from scratch.
• Major gifts are the priority. Comfort making a direct ask matters more here than any other single skill.
• Writes like a person rather than an organization, and can turn a trip report into something a donor reads.
• Runs the marketing without help: social media, email, website, and the annual report. Design ability is a plus.
• Holds deadlines that carry legal and financial consequences.
• Nonprofit fundraising, development, or marketing background. Grant writing, events, and donor databases all help.

Duties, Roles & Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Relations

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, and grow that portfolio each year.
• Run the annual fundraising plan: campaigns, appeals, monthly giving, and year end.
• Write and submit grant applications, and meet every reporting deadline that follows an award.
• Secure sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and in kind support.
• Facilitate gala organization, set up, and prep, including sponsors, vendors, program, and follow up.
