We are a DBHDS-licensed provider of Community Stabilization and Mental Health IOP services serving Richmond, VA and surrounding counties. Many of our clients have experienced homelessness, grief, trauma, hospitalization, or major loss. We're growing, with residential services planned for 2027, and we're building the clinical leadership to carry that growth with integrity.

We're looking for an experienced Clinical Director who wants to lead with intention: with steady supervision, sound clinical judgment, and pride in the standard of care.

What This Role Includes

Clinical Leadership

Remote | Flexible | Up to 10 Hours a Month | Reliable Availability

Our clinicians manage their routine responsibilities with the support of program leadership. As Clinical Director, you own the clinical oversight layer: you set our clinical standards, provide active supervision and trusted consultation, and give the higher-level guidance that keeps our care strong.

You will

• Set the clinical standards for our services, including expectations for documentation quality, risk assessment, safety planning, and level-of-care decisions
• Provide active clinical supervision and case consultation to clinicians across Community Stabilization and MH-IOP
• Create a consistent space for clinicians to discuss cases, strengthen clinical judgment, and receive guidance
• Attend our weekly Care Team meeting virtually
• Be available by phone when clinical questions or higher-acuity situations arise, with same-day response to client clinical emergencies
• Provide clinical guidance regarding admissions, continued stay, level of care, and complex client presentations
• Provide some clinical review and sign-off on individualized service plans, charts, and other clinical documentation
• Oversee higher-acuity Community Stabilization cases and determine when additional clinical support or LMHP involvement is appropriate
• Partner with our MH-IOP Clinical Lead on cases requiring higher-level clinical guidance
• Guide clinical quality in line with DBHDS and DMAS requirements
• Support clinical readiness for licensing and accreditation
• Participate in focused clinical case review and supervision meetings
• Offer consultation as we build our residential behavioral health services

Where Your Time Goes

Your time is focused on clinical standards, oversight, supervision, and consultation. Program operations, groups, and day-to-day documentation workflows are led by our operations team, so your expertise goes where it matters most.

Compensation & Growth

The position begins at a $2,000 monthly retainer, which includes up to 10 hours per month of active clinical leadership (setting standards, supervision, case consultation, record review, meetings, and other substantive clinical work), along with availability for clinical consultation and client clinical emergencies.

Additional time, when approved in advance, is paid at $100 per hour.

This role is designed to grow with us. As our census and acuity increase and we add new programs, groups, and residential services, the scope, time commitment, and compensation will grow too. We'll review them together at least every six months, so the role keeps pace with the work.

For a clinician who wants to help build a continuum of care from the ground up, this is a chance to shape the clinical foundation of an agency as it expands, and to grow into a larger leadership role as it does.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Active Virginia license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)
• Clinical supervision and risk assessment experience
• Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)

Especially valued

• Community-based behavioral health services
• Community Stabilization and/or crisis services
• Mental Health IOP or other structured outpatient services
• Higher-acuity behavioral health populations
• DBHDS and DMAS requirements
• Residential behavioral health services

Experience across multiple levels of care is strongly preferred as we continue to expand our continuum of services.
