At Yumwoof, we're redefining pet wellness with science-backed, anti-inflammatory dog food made from real ingredients. We are in the middle of a full rebrand and a stacked product launch calendar, and we need a strategic, hands-on Vice President of Finance to build and lead the financial engine behind our next stage of growth.About the Role
Yumwoof is looking for a VP of Finance to lead financial strategy, planning, forecasting, cash management, and accounting as we scale our DTC and wholesale businesses. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, you’ll serve as our senior-most finance leader and work closely with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.
We’re looking for someone who has helped scale a CPG or physical consumer brand through a period of hypergrowth from the $20M–$200M revenue stage. You should bring deep experience in financial modeling, sales and operations, inventory, working capital, and omnichannel economics. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work closely withthe CEO and Board and drive strategic thinking while still getting into the models and data yourself.
What You'll Own
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Own and continuously improve the complex three-statement financial model we use to run the business, including our financial projections, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, inventory, working capital, annual budget, and scenario planning.
- Sales Operations (S&OP): Play a leadership role in S&OP, partnering with Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to connect demand, production, inventory, and cash into one integrated plan.
- Cash & Profitability: Give us clear visibility into future cash needs while finding opportunities to improve gross margin, inventory productivity, while optimizing working working capital.
- Marketing & Growth Strategy: Partner with Marketing and Sales to evaluate where and how much we should invest across DTCand wholesale using CAC, LTV, payback periods, contribution margin, and account profitability.
- Capital Raising & Transactions: Lead the finance side of future capital raises and other strategic transactions, including financial modeling, diligence, investor materials, data rooms, and coordination with investors, lenders, bankers, and advisors.
- Strategic Finance: Partner with the CEO and leadership team on capital allocation, pricing, new products, unit economics, major investments and CAPEX, optimizing cost of capital, and other strategic plans.
- Finance and Accounting Leadership: Oversee our 3rd-party accounting firm and Controller, financial reporting, treasury, financial controls, and the finance team.
- Technology and Infrastructure: Oversee implementation and scaling of key tools (e.g., IMS, Accounting Software).
Required Experience & Skills
- Scaling Consumer Businesses: Experience helping scale a CPG or physical consumer brand across the $20M–$200M revenue stage
- Financial Planning & Modeling: Deep financial modeling experience, including personally leading forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, cash-flow planning, and scenario analysis.
- S&OP, Supply Chain & Working Capital: Significant experience with S&OP, demand planning, inventory, working capital, product costing/landed COGS, manufacturing, and supply chain, with the ability to connect operational decisions to financial outcomes.
- Omnichannel & Growth Economics: Experience across DTC/e-commerce (Shopify, Amazon, Chewy), retail, and wholesale, with strong understanding of core CPG metrics, includingCAC, LTV, retention/churn, payback, contribution margin, and channel-level profitability.
- Marketing Investment: Experience evaluating and establishing financial discipline around material growth and marketing investments, including spend allocation and return on investment.
- Wholesale Economics: Strong understanding of wholesale pricing, trade spend, deductions, distributor margins, customer terms, and account profitability.
- Finance Infrastructure & Leadership: Proven ability to build scalable finance processes, systems, reporting, controls, and high-performing teams in a rapidly growing organization.
- Strategic Finance & Capital: Experience leading the finance side of capital raises, financings, M&A, or other strategic transactions, including working directly with founders, executive teams, boards, investors, lenders, and other 3rd party functions.
- Leadership & Judgment: Highly collaborative, hands-on executive with strong judgment, ownership, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business decisions.
- Preferred: Pet industry experience is a plus; CPA or MBA preferred but not required. Experience in prior high-growth startups, investment banking, or management consulting would be ideal.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
