Senior Director, Product Explorations

About the Role: At H&R Block, Product Management is helping shape the future of how clients and tax pros experience tax, financial confidence, advice and AI-enabled service. The Senior Director, Product Management – Explorations will lead multiple new teams focused on early-stage discovery, Horizon 3 growth opportunities, and AI-enabled ways of working that help identify the next differentiated growth areas before the organization commits to scaled investment.

This leader will bring deep product craft, strong discovery discipline, and the ability to create clarity in ambiguous spaces. They will be both a player engaged in Discovery and a coach to facilitate broad discovery across business lines, guide teams through structured learning agendas, and help move promising ideas from insight to validated concept to scaled testing within the appropriate product pillar. The role will translate strategic priorities and Ideal State themes into a disciplined Explorations portfolio with clear OKRs, learning goals, business cases, and decision gates. This role requires a product leader who can operate with entrepreneurial urgency while navigating the realities of a large, regulated enterprise.

You’ll also be an integral part of the H&R Block Product Leadership team contributing to the overall product strategy, special initiatives and team culture.

You’ll Do...

Lead Explorations and Discovery

• Lead broad, early-stage discovery across new product opportunities, and AI-enabled client or associate experiences.
• Define and manage learning agendas that clarify the customer problem, target segment, differentiated value proposition, feasibility, desirability, viability, commercial potential, compliance considerations, and path to scale.
• Design and guide lightweight experiments, prototypes, and behavioral signal-gathering methods that produce clear go/no-go recommendations.
