Position Summary
The Lead Director, Decision Scientist – Forecasting Accuracy and Analytical Validation for Financial Products, ensures the accuracy, reliability, and financial integrity of analytics-driven products across the underwriting ecosystem. This leader sets the strategy for forecasted P&L accuracy, anomaly detection in live underwriting deals, analytical validation, quality assurance, and forecasting and P&L algorithm verification. They ensure that changes to data, logic, assumptions, configurations, and applications deliver expected results without unintended financial or operational impacts.
This role combines the analytical rigor of a Decision Scientist with the leadership capabilities of a financial product development leader. The position leads a team of 10+ analysts and validation professionals responsible for analytical validation, reporting solutions, business impact analysis, quality assurance, and financial result verification.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Validation & Financial Impact Assessment
- Establish and lead the enterprise strategy and framework for analytical validation across the underwriting ecosystem.
- Validate business outcomes and financial impacts resulting from data, logic, configuration, and application changes.
- Lead P&L validation, forecasting validation, and financial impact assessments to ensure confidence in analytical outputs.
- Partner with business and finance stakeholders to investigate unexpected variances and performance shifts.
