JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Community-to-Community Partnerships is responsible for the vision of the department and cultivating healthy, thriving partnerships between Children’s HopeChest CarePoints and its church and school partners. This role develops and implements strategic Partnership Development Plans designed to deepen engagement, strengthen relationships, increase sponsorship participation and retention, expand partner visit opportunities, and generate designated revenue for community development initiatives.

Working closely with HopeChest Partnership Leaders (HPLs), in-country teams, sponsors, and Advancement staff, this position ensures that Community-to-Community partnerships remain vibrant, transformational, and aligned with the vision, mission, and values of Children’s HopeChest.

In the future, Director of Community-to-Community Partnerships provides leadership and accountability to a part-time team member responsible for sponsorship engagement and retention across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partnership Development Planning

  • Create, implement, and evaluate annual Partnership Development Plans for all currents church and school partners
  • Establish clear goals and measurable outcomes related to sponsorship growth, sponsorship retention, partner engagement, travel participation, project fundraising, and spiritual transformation
  • Develop strategies that encourage mutual transformation within both the CarePoint community and partner organizations
  • Utilize partnership metrics and feedback to refine strategies and increase effectiveness

Partnership Engagement

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for Community-to-Community partnerships
  • Facilitate quarterly HopeChest Huddles with HopeChest Partnership Leaders (HPLs) and in-country Community Relationship Managers (CRM)
  • Strengthen communication and story sharing between U.S. partners and in-country teams
  • Equip HPLs and partnership leadership teams to maximize engagement opportunities within their churches and schools
  • Support collaboration between Donor Development team and partnerships

Sponsorship Development

  • Develop strategies to increase sponsorship participation within existing partnerships
  • Implement initiatives to improve sponsorship retention and engagement
  • Collaborate with the Sponsorship Engagement Specialist to identify opportunities for sponsor connection and growth
  • Utilize sponsorship data and trends to proactively address retention challenges

Partner Visits and Travel Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Travel Team to develop annual partner visit strategies for each partnership
  • Identify opportunities to utilize travel experiences to strengthen relationships, increase sponsorship engagement, and inspire greater participation
  • Support HPLs and partnership teams in maximizing the transformational impact of partner visits

Designated Giving and Project Fundraising

  • Partner with churches and HPLs to identify and implement strategies for CarePoint project fundraising
  • Assist in the development of fundraising plans aligned with the CarePoint’s strategic priorities
  • Encourage generosity through storytelling, vision casting, and relationship building

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to the part-time Sponsorship Engagement Specialist
  • Ensure sponsorship engagement initiatives align with broader partnership development goals
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, relationship management, ministry leadership, account management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating and growing long-term partnerships
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation abilities
  • Experience leading meetings and presenting to groups
  • High competency in CRM systems and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to build trust and maintain relationships across diverse cultures and organizational structures

Approximately 5% travel, including:

  • Domestic travel to partner meetings
  • Participation in international partner visits as needed to strengthen Community-to-Community relationships
