Position Overview

---------------------

We're seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Digital PR to lead Siege Media's Digital PR department. You'll set the vision for the practice, lead our Digital PR Managers, and own the quality, performance and growth of Digital PR across our client portfolio while serving as the senior DPR partner for our most strategic clients.

Where DPR Managers own 4–6 accounts each, the Director owns the department: its strategy, playbook, talent, results, growth and the client relationships that matter most.

Responsibilities

--------------------

  • Set the vision, goals and roadmap for Siege's Digital PR practice. Own department revenue, profitability and headcount planning, and represent Digital PR to Siege's leadership team.
  • Lead, coach and grow a team of Digital PR Managers, and through them the Data Journalists and PR Specialists on their accounts.
  • Hire for the team, set clear expectations, run regular 1:1s and performance reviews, and build a path for strong ICs to grow into managers.
  • Own the Digital PR campaign standard across the portfolio. Review and pressure-test campaign roadmaps and ideas before they reach clients, ensuring each is built on a newsworthy narrative and the right mix of proprietary data, reactive PR, linkable assets and other promotion levers.
  • Serve as the senior DPR partner and escalation point for key accounts. Join strategic client conversations, lead difficult ones, and identify opportunities to expand DPR engagements.
  • Lead Digital PR on sales calls, shape DPR strategy and proposals for prospects, and partner with sales to grow the DPR client base.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and editors at high-authority outlets, and coach the team on angles, targeting and follow-up that lift open rates and coverage.
  • Own DPR performance at the department level, including media mentions, mentions per campaign, backlinks, on-time launches, client satisfaction, retention and profitability.
  • Spot underperforming accounts early and work with managers on a recovery plan.
  • Build and refine the DPR playbook, processes, templates and new client deliverables.
  • Manage capacity planning, staffing and utilization across accounts so the team is resourced to deliver.
  • Work closely with Siege's affiliate, analytics, content strategy and GEO teams to integrate DPR into broader client strategies, including how earned coverage supports organic and AI search visibility.

Required Skills

-------------------

  • 6+ years of experience in digital PR, with 3+ years in an agency setting
  • 2+ years managing people, including experience managing managers or leading a multi-account team
  • A portfolio of data-driven and reactive campaigns that earned coverage in top-tier and high-authority outlets
  • Deep understanding of how digital PR drives GEO and brand visibility
  • Proven ability to own senior client relationships, lead difficult conversations, grow accounts and win new business
  • Strong operational skills: scoping, resourcing, capacity planning and managing competing priorities
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, editorial judgment and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

----------------------------

  • Experience with SaaS, fintech and/or consumer brands
  • Established relationships with journalists and editors in national, business or trade media
  • Experience owning a department or practice P&L
  • Familiarity with how earned media influences AI search and LLM visibility
  • Experience building PR processes, playbooks or new service offerings

Base Salary

$115,000 – $130,000 base, $130k-$150k OTE (commensurate with experience)

Benefits

Comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) match, unlimited PTO, wellness stipends, and ongoing professional development opportunities

To Apply
