Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Account Director to lead strategic client relationships, drive measurable marketing outcomes, and help shape a high-performing performance agency model. This role is ideal for a client services leader who combines executive presence, marketing strategy, commercial acumen, and strong cross-functional leadership.

About the Role

The Account Director will serve as the senior relationship and strategy lead for a portfolio of clients. This person will partner with client executives to understand business goals, translate those goals into integrated marketing strategies, and align internal teams around execution, performance, service quality, retention, and growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and grow senior-level client relationships across assigned accounts.
  • Lead strategic planning, business reviews, renewal discussions, and executive client conversations.
  • Translate client objectives into actionable marketing strategies focused on measurable results.
  • Partner with account management, creative, media, analytics, reporting, data, operations, sales, and finance teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, deepen client value, improve performance, and grow revenue.
  • Monitor account health, client sentiment, delivery quality, profitability, and retention risk.
  • Serve as the escalation point for significant client issues and lead proactive resolution plans.
  • Mentor account team members and help strengthen agency operating practices, governance, and client engagement standards.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in client services, agency account leadership, marketing, consulting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years leading strategic client relationships with senior or executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to grow, retain, and expand client accounts.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing, integrated marketing strategy, analytics, measurement, and campaign optimization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong financial, commercial, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence, prioritize, and make decisions in complex client and internal environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a performance marketing, integrated marketing, agency-of-record, or managed-services environment.
  • Experience supporting clients in financial services, fintech, healthcare, retail, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience with multi-channel marketing programs, attribution, reporting, audience strategy, and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing complex or multi-million-dollar client portfolios.

  • Clients view the Account Director as a trusted strategic advisor and business partner.
  • Account plans clearly connect client goals, marketing strategy, execution priorities, performance metrics, and growth opportunities.
  • Client relationships are healthy, risks are identified early, and renewal or expansion opportunities are actively managed.
  • Internal teams are aligned, accountable, and focused on delivering measurable client outcomes.
  • The agency model becomes stronger through improved operating practices, governance, mentoring, and client engagement standards.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000

Position is eligible for an annual bonus incentive program
